It works and I'm happy! Pen clip falls off (but does it matter?)
By Heidi M.
I got the Super Lube 51010 because had a problem that needed fixing - the old-fashioned metal spigot on a water dispenser had become nearly impossible to turn. And no matter how much Silicone Grease I put on it the issue just seemed to get worse! (That might have been the wrong product for the job. I'm not knowledgeable about these things.)
This stuff fixed it.
It's taken repeated applications over a week or so to work all the old gunk out, but the issue is already 90% better!
While other reviewers seem disappointed that this oil pen isn't refillable and has a plastic tip, for my occasional use that really doesn't matter. I needed something food grade with a good tip for application and this was it. For about $4 I can live with that. And the tip has been FANTASTIC for getting the oil exactly where I need it and nowhere I don't.
One concern was that it might smell like petroleum byproduct due to the mineral oil. I have a ridiculously sensitive nose and for example WD-40 is practically impossible for me to be around. But this stuff is fine! It's basically odorless, only if I put my nose within an inch of a fresh application do I smell ANYTHING. And within a few minutes even that is gone.
I plan to buy this again when the oil runs out.
The only con I notice is the clip for the "pen" cap fell off with first use. Now, for me it was good riddance since I don't intend to store it like a pen anyway. The tip cover works well to keep the oil in the pen and that's my main concern. However, if you intend to clip this to a pocket like you would a pen I don't see that working out too well. With a delicate touch it can happen, but more often than not the clip pops off the cap entirely.
I can't bring myself to deduct a star for that because frankly it doesn't make a difference to me. I just mention it for others' sake.
I paid full price for this product and had no incentive to write this review beyond the desire to be helpful to fellow shoppers.

Bought this to lube my kitchen drawers with plastic rollers. The drawers were making noise and getting hard to open and close after 20 years of use. One treatment with this stuff and they move like brand new (better) Sometimes I forget and push the drawer closed like I use to do and they slam because they move so smoooooth now. Great stuff!

Super Lube Oiler
This Super Lube oil has worked great on my fishing reels and power tools. It has also come in handy for lots of other uses around the home and shop. I used it to lube the pivots, bushings and gears of an old Jauch 77 clock movement in an Emperor Grandmother clock my wife had given to her. The clock hadn't run in years, but after a thorough cleaning and oiling as well as repairing some damage from previous attempts by others to get it going, this Super Lube oil now has it running smoothly and keeping time accurately. The applicator tube tip makes it easy to get a drop of oil exactly where you want it without having it run all over everything else. I've used it to oil the bushings and wear points on my scroll saw and the guide bearings on my band saw. It worked great and made them run smooth and quite. This synthetic oil is a good consistency being thin enough to easily flow where you want it, but thick enough to stay in place, unlike some lighter conventional oils. I also use the Super Lube grease and silicone spray quite often and have had equally good results with them as well.
