The YG-1 E5075TF TiAlN-coated carbide stub-length corner radius end mill has a 35-degree helix angle, three flutes, and a center-cutting design for high-performance slotting, ramping, and pocket machining on stainless steel and steel alloys up to Rockwell hardness C35. Corner radius end mills have a square end with rounded corners on the cutting edges to reduce chipping and extend the life of the tool. The stub length increases tool strength and makes it less likely to break in the material being machined. It is best used when depth of cut is shallow. The 35-degree helix angle provides more support behind the cutting edge than higher angles, and increases cutting action and chip evacuation compared to the standard 30-degree helix. It efficiently cuts difficult-to-machine material, moving it up the spiral and away from the workpiece. The end mill’s three flutes provide better chip-carrying capacity than four flutes and a finer finish than two. They efficiently remove excess material from the cutting area and provide a third cutting edge to create an improved finish that may eliminate the need for a second finishing cut in some applications.
